Topic 1: Personal Health

WHAT IS PERSONAL HEALTH 
 
Personal health is the ability to take care of your wellbeing by ensuring that your conscious decisions does not affect your health. 

FACTORS THAT AFFECT PERSONAL HEALTH:

1. Smoking cigarettes or tobacco 
*Tobacco causes people to die from either lung cancer or heart disease. 
* Children who breath in smoke other people's cigarettes develop serious breathing problem such as asthma. 

2. Lack of exercise 
*No exercise makes your heart and muscles weak.
*no physical activity contribute to weight gain and obesity.

3. Poor diet 
*Unhealthy eating habit leads to obesity and diabetes. 

4. No enough sleeping 
* Not getting enough sleeping affects our growth, concentration and memory 
*Can cause bad mood and depression 

5. Risky sexual behaviour 
* Having many sexual partners increases the risk of getting Sexually Transmitted Infections such as HIV/AIDS. 
*Not using protection will increase the risk of getting pregnant as well as Sexually Transmitted Infections.

  3. Fantastic explanations!!!. I never knew that lack of sleep causes depression. I've always thought that I suffered from insomnia.
    Is there a relationship between sleep depression and insomnia?
    Because I don't know which one might be affecting my sleep.πŸ™‡πŸ˜“

  10. Any type of abuse, either physical, emotional can cause depression which is unhealthy and can even lead to death.

  11. Yes I do. I don't smoke, I do exercises every morning, am always sobber, eating balanced diet and having enough sleeping. I sleep for hours

  21. I think poor diet has got to do with maintaining a balanced diet aswell , whereby one have to eat different food containing all the vitamins, meant for different functions or purpose in the body.
    It's really a great explanation though

    1. Yes it will affect you in the long run.You might not feel the effects now because you still found but after 10+ years the negative effects will start to creep up on you.

  25. I don't smoke but I like the smell of cigarettes, I always want to get closer to anyone smoking at that moment. Does it also means that my health is high risk ?

  27. I had the best time reading this topic, well articulated and collective information. Maybe just to add that it is recommended to atleast rest/sleep for 8 hrs to prevent bad emotions and depression.
