Topic 8: Tuberculosis: communicable disease in Namibia

Communicable diseases these are diseases that spread easily  from one person to another or from animals to persons.

Tuberculosis is a lung infection caused by bacteria. 



Symptoms
: Chest pain, cough, fever and weight loss

Transmission: Through the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes

Prevention: Infected person should not spit, sneeze or cough carelessly but should use a tissue or elbow
All new born babies are immunized against the disease

  6. I think people get infected because they do not take care of themselves very well when it come to Health, so even the immunization they got while they are young it elapses.

  12. TB is curable even in a co infected person,what you need to do is to finish the TB treatment as per the Doctor's prescription. Do not take the medicine with alcohol just eat well, rest and take your medication every day.

  13. I used to read that smoking also causes TB, please help me explain how it causes it. Or do smoking cause the development of those bacteria which causes TB?
