Topic 12: Environmental factors that causes the spread of communicable diseases.

 Here are some factors:

* Water supply- dirty or unsafe water causes diarrhea

*Sanitation facilities- lack of toilets, not washing hands regularly, poor living conditions all cause diarrhea

* Health services- long distances to the nearest clinic or hospital in rural areas means there is no treatment of diseases.

* Food- preparing food in an unhygienic condition, food will be contaminated with bacteria from flies which are likely to cause diarrhea

* Climate- heavy rains cause flooding which can contaminates water

    1. When heavy rain rains it causes flood and water will be flowing from one place to another, not all the places are clean meaning all the dirties will be washed away and make the whole water unsafe for drinking and cooking.

    1. Heavy rain causes floods and when water is flowing from one place to another it washes out all the dirtnes from different places, meaning this water wont be safe anymore yo consume. If one consume it can cause diarrhoea.

    1. 1. Water supply, in most rural areas people use rain water from water resources than tap water. Some water sources such as dams, liver and wells are not covered mean animals can also use the same water for drinking and they will even urinate in water, some people can use the same water for swimming, some for washing their cars or clothes next to the water resource. Such activities contaminate water and make it unsafe for consumption and can cause some diseases like hepatitis and diarrhoea.
      2. Sanitation facilities, at some places there are not enough toilets or clean water, this will force community members at that certain place to use any space for nature calls and when the rain comes it will wash out everything.
